General Electric CF6

The Engine Specifications (CF6-50)
 
The CF6 high-bypass turbofan was based on the TF39 and was designed to power the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and Lockheed L-1011.  The DC-10 was launched with the CF6; however, the Lockheed went with the Rolls-Royce RB.211.

In production since 1971, the CF6 is used to power many of today's large commercial aircraft.  The CF6 is known as the F103 by the U.S. military.
